JSC 'Varėnos pienelis' is a promising and rapidly growing food industry company. In December 2019, the company successfully implemented an investment project titled 'Installation of Industrial Wastewater Treatment Facilities at JSC 'Varėnos pienelis', which is partially funded by the Lithuanian Environmental Protection Investment Fund (LAAIF) and administered by the Environmental Project Management Agency (APVA). The project received EUR 141.000 in funding.

The support from the Lithuanian Environmental Protection Investment Fund allowed the company to install advanced equipment for industrial wastewater treatment, which will help reduce wastewater pollution indicators. The project's implementation will contribute to creating a cleaner environment and will enhance the company's competitiveness and productivity both nationally and internationally.

JSC 'Varėnos pienelis' has installed a wastewater treatment plant, which has minimized the amount of industrial wastewater generated during technological operations. The support from the Lithuanian Environmental Protection Investment Fund enabled the company to implement advanced technology that not only contributes to a cleaner environment but also increases the company's competitiveness and productivity at both the national and international levels. The project will address key environmental tasks outlined in directives and other regulations at all levels – taking all possible and economically justified measures to reduce pollutant quantities and their negative impact on public health and the environment, developing and implementing sustainable technologies, conserving natural resources, and adopting modern efficient resource management solutions, considering the long-term needs of natural ecosystems and businesses (people).
